Horse Racing Tips From Templegate

The Friday Templegate horse racing tips are showcased in more detail here.

Cheltenham Horse Racing Tips

1:15: Catesby Estates Handicap Hurdle Cl3 (3yo+ 0-140) 2m1f ITV4: DONNACHA – Finished ahead of the Nicholls horse Panjari at Chepstow in October and has built on that with a fine second in a competitive handicap here at Cheltenham last month. Templegate thinks a repeat of that run see him in the mix.

1:50: Cheltenham Racecourse Food Bank Collection Mares’ Handicap Chase (Challenger Series Qualifier) Cl3 (4yo+ 0-125) 2m4½f ITV4: WALK IN CLOVER – Course and distance winner that also ran a blinder to be a close third at this meeting last month. Up just a pound and Harry Skelton, who has ridden the horse before, takes over in the saddle.

2:25: Unibet Middle Distance Chase Series Veterans’ Handicap Chase Cl2 (9yo+ 0-150) 2m4½f ITV4: LE LIGERIEN is a five-time chase winner that recorded the most recent of those wins at Kempton last month. Raised 5lbs here and softer ground to cope with but has form with give underfoot and another bold bid looks on the cards in this veterans’ race.

Gesskille Looks Interesting Over The Cross Country Fences For The First Time

3:00: Glenfarclas Crystal Cup Cross Country Handicap Chase (GBB Race) Cl2 (5yo+) 3m5½f ITV4: GESSKILLE – First try over these fences but every chance it will suit having run well over the National obstacles in the past – notably when winning the Grand Sefton Chase at Aintree last time. Worth a crack here and the form has been franked with the 2nd Percussion running well in the Becher last weekend.

3:35: Citipost Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) Cl2 (4yo+) 3m ITV4: WHITE RHINO – The Templegate best bet goes in the final race of the day at Cheltenham. This 7 year-old won well on his first run back at Carlisle in October and backed that up with a 3/4-length second here at Cheltenham last month. Up 5lbs, but still gets into this better race with only 10-9 to carry. While the way he stayed on the last day over 2m5f suggests this step up to 3m is worth a crack.
