Steven Gerrard is eyeing Jordan Henderson and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his first two signings after becoming the new manager of Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.

Steven Gerrard Wants Premier League Duo At Al-Ettifaq

Gerrard signed a two-year contract on Monday despite initially saying that he has turned down an offer from Al-Ettifaq after a visit to the Middle East last month.

According to reports, Gerrard’s former Liverpool teammate Jordan Henderson could be one of his first signings.

The 33-year-old Reds captain has been at Anfield for 12 years and still has two years left on his contract but could be tempted by the Saudi League growing in popularity this summer.

Aubameyang is 34 now and is looking for a fresh start after a bitterly disappointing season at Chelsea.

The Gabon international scored three times in 21 appearances after moving to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona for £10.3m last September.

Following a poor campaign, he could become the latest Blues star to move to the Saudi Pro League. N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy signed for SPL sides last month and Aubameyang could be next.

Steven Gerrard was most recently manager of Aston Villa after a successful spell at Rangers before that. However, Gerrard lost his job in October last year after winning just two of the club’s first 12 games of the season. Villa then appointed Unai Emery who turned the club around and eventually qualified for the Conference League after finishing seventh.
