Steve Cooper’s time at Nottingham Forest looks to be in serious jeopardy, with the Midlands side sitting bottom of the table following their fifth consecutive league defeat.
Leicester had wrapped up their game against Forest by halftime on Monday night, as a James Maddison brace saw Steve Cooper and his men go down the tunnel 3-0 down at half time.
The game eventually ended 4-0 in a miserable derby day defeat for Cooper, who said he doesn’t want to over criticise his players.
“The run of results is not good, I am not going to shy away from that. Tactically we were not what we planned to be. I didn’t like us in the duels. There are phases in games where we let the result run away from us.
"First-half tactically, we were nowhere near good enough"

“I refuse to be really critical of the players as a group. Don’t want to sound soft and fluffy. That is the last thing I am. It is tough for them. It is a unique situation. Relationships and connections are built over time. We are trying to do that on the job in the hardest league in the world.”
“The tougher it gets the more I work and the more it means to me. The stats on chances and goals conceded are not good and we are trying to address it. But we are not giving up. This group of players care.”
Cooper refused to answer any questions on his position at the club and also avoided any comment when questioned about going over to the 3,000 travelling Forest fans after the game to clap them as they sung his name.
One thing is for certain and that is that with five consecutive losses and Forest sitting dead bottom of the table, conversations will be had over the future of Steve Cooper in the coming days.
