Newcastle United have stormed to a 5-0 lead at half-time against Tottenham Hotspur, and Spurs Twitter is in meltdown with one of the worst performances in the history of the club.

After conceding five goals in the first 21 minutes at St James’ Park Spurs fans on Twitter have seen enough, and former player Jamie O’Hara has even gone as far as switching his phone off.

First half goals from Alexander Isak (2), Jacob Murphy (2) and Joelinton allowed Newcastle to completely dominate the opening 45 minutes.

Cristian Stellini substituted Pape Sarr after 23 minutes, bringing on another defender Davinson Sanchez to try and avoid further embarrassment.

It was a crazy opening 21 minutes, with Newcastle becoming the second-earliest 5-0 leaders in Premier League history after Man City were 5-0 up against Watford inside just 18 minutes back in September 2019.

It’ll certainly be a long journey back home for those Spurs fans who made the 600 mile, 10 hour round trip up north, with many fans leaving the game after 25 minutes.

One Spurs Twitter account said that they’d happily see most of the players never play for the club again.
