Tottenham Hotspur are confident that summer signing Micky van de Ven will not require surgery following the hamstring injury he picked up in Monday’s 4-1 defeat to Chelsea.
Spurs Hopeful Micky van de Ven Will Not Need Surgery On Hamstring Injury
It is unclear how long the versatile defender will be sidelined for, but Spurs are now confident that he will not require an operation and he can recover with the club’s medical staff at their training ground.
Van de Ven appeared to pick up a nasty hamstring injury during the 4-1 loss to Chelsea on Monday night, looking to be in a lot of pain. However, the good news is that it does not seem to be as serious as first anticipated.

It is not the first time that the Dutch defender has had issues with his hamstring though. He was previously ruled out for over 10 weeks when he was at Wolfsburg after suffering a similar injury back in February 2022.
Nothing went right for Ange Postecoglou’s side on Monday night. The side also lost James Maddison at half-time due to an ankle problem and with Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie both being sent off, the Australian coach could have a selection headache ahead of Saturday’s early kick-off against Wolves.
Despite going 1-0 up against their capital rivals Chelsea, the Blues eventually found the back of the net four times to hand Spurs their first Premier League defeat of the season.
As well as the injury to Van de Ven, Postecoglou is sweating on the fitness of Maddison. With Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon all ruled out for the foreseeable, the North London outfit are looking short of attacking options.
Spurs have some tough games after the international break, so they’ll be hoping that the short break will do them some favours. They host Aston Villa before a trip to Manchester City towards the end of the month and start of December.
