Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim had planned to transform Manchester United’s squad by attempting to sign Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga and Kingsley Coman, but he has now backed out of buying the club after his latest offer was turned down.

Sheikh Jassim Wanted Marquee Signings For Red Devils

The Glazers have rejected Sheikh Jassim’s latest offer to buy the club which was worth more than £6billion in total. This has resulted in the Qatari businessman walking away from the deal all together.

His offer would have included resources to upgrade current facilities, fund a rebuild of Old Trafford and clear all the remaining debt tied to the club.

However, with that now off the cards, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to buy a 25%  stake in the club worth £1.4billion, but the Glazer family will still be the main owners.

The Red Devils are set to sign off Ratcliffe’s investment this week with the founder of INEOS set to be in charge of all things football at the club.

According to reports, this is set to be a transfer blow for Erik ten Hag’s side with Sheikh Jassim’s planned signings highly unlikely without his money and guidance.

This is because he had planned to bring Kylian Mbappe, Kingsley Coman and Eduardo Camavinga to the north west. All three of those mentioned have had past links to United, and Jassim wanted them to be some of his first signings for the club.

PSG star Mbappe is set to become a free agent next summer but looks likely to join La Liga giants Real Madrid once his contact expires.

United have had a poor start to the season, and currently sit 10th in the Premier League table. They have also lost both of their Champions League group stage matches so far and pressure is growing on the current owners.
