Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz was announced earlier, and it’s sparked debate amongst the boxing and wider community. Now, Sean Strickland has had his say about the boxing match.
Paul vs Diaz had been rumoured to meet in the boxing ring and the talk was put to rest today. Ariel Helwani confirmed that Paul vs Diaz will go down on August 5 in Dallas, Texas.
‘The Problem Child’ has opted to fight yet another UFC fighter. In the past he’s fought Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. All great UFC fighters in their prime, but all took on Paul at in the latter stage of their careers.
Paul’s choice of opponents has led to critics arguing he’s chosen the easy route. Despite this easy route in the boxing game, Paul did lose for the first time against Tommy Fury.
UFC middleweight, Sean Strickland, shared his opinions on the boxing bout on Twitter:
Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz such a fucking joke.
I'm not hating on either for making money of this clown show I'm hating on the fact a RETIRED 155er is fighting a juiced tiktoker at 185 who lost to a recreational boxer Tommy Furry.
STOP WATCHING THIS BS!! IT NEEDS TO DIE…

Sean Strickland is quick to state that he gets why they’re getting money for the boxing, but isn’t happy with the level of opposition Paul has decided to fight.
The middleweight isn’t the only UFC man to comment on Paul’s decision to fight Diaz. Dillon Danis quickly shared his thoughts on the fight between the two.
It’s a fight that will draw big numbers in, but equally just as much criticism.
