Ryan Gravenberch has spoke out about his future at Bayern Munich, with the Dutch international claiming that ‘it has to change next season’.

Gravenberch came through the ranks at European giants, Ajax, where he played 103 matches and contributed to 25 goals. Munich managed to land the Dutchman’s signature, for around £20m (prior to add-ons).

When Bayern Munich signed the 20-year-old midfielder from Ajax last year, many were expecting goals, assists, and a general in the core of the team. However, after only starting one game in the Bundesliga, the Netherlands international could be on his way out.

It has been a difficult year for the German champions, as the club shockingly parted-ways with manager, Julian Nagelsmann, due to Bayern’s league position – 2nd place.

His replacement, Thomas Tuchel, has been unable to put the club back on the road to success and were beaten by Manchester City in the Champions League quarter finals.

Given the Bundesliga side’s recent performances, which have seen them move back down to second in the table, it may be a difficult time for Gravenberch to ‘break into the squad’.

The Dutchman has only managed 726 minutes in all competitions, which spans across 28 matches – an average of 25 mins per match.

However, should things in Germany remain bleak, the Dutchman has a plethora of clubs that have shown heavy interest. Erik ten Hag is said to be a huge admirer of the young midfielder, previously working together during their time with Ajax.

Manchester United are on the hunt for a midfielder this summer, being linked with Gravenberch’s international teammate, Frenkie de Jong.

The Barcelona midfielder may be a difficult deal to complete, as the former Ajax man has been very adamant on his desire to stay in Spain. So, if negotiations fall-through, the Red Devils could move in for the unsettled Bayern star.
