Manchester United legend Roy Keane has given a harsh verdict on West Ham United captain Declan Rice‘s form this season, and says he doesn’t get enough goals or assists.

Rice was the West Ham’s player of the season last campaign, but hasn’t been at his very best so far this term. The Hammers as a unit haven’t been anywhere near as good either. However, they did get a big victory at the weekend against Nottingham Forest, and ironically Rice scored with a sublime strike.

The ex-Red Devils star claims that Rice ‘needs to do more’. The England midfielder has two goals and three assists so far this season.

Roy Keane Declan Rice Comments

“He’s got to focus on doing well for West Ham this season. I don’t think he’s been that great this season. He’s not really kicked on…I think he needs to do a lot more.

“He doesn’t score enough goals and he doesn’t get enough assists. For all the good talk about him for all the PR coming out of West Ham on him, he doesn’t score enough and doesn’t get enough assists. But for me he needs to do a lot more. Let’s see what he’s like now tonight.

“I’ve been a fan of him, he turns up every week but there’s talk of him going for big money and going to one of the big clubs and playing in the Champions League. He needs to do a lot more. It’s as simple as that.”
