Romelu Lukau will feature for Inter Milan in this weekend’s Champions League final against treble-chasing Manchester City, but will return to parent club Chelsea shortly after.

Romelu Lukaku Set For Return To Premier League Football

The Belgian forward has spent this season on loan in the Italian capital, helping them achieve a third-place finish in Serie A and reach their first European final since 2010.

However, his loan will expire shortly after the final and he is set for a return to Premier League football next season.

Following his £97.5m transfer back to Stamford Bridge from Inter, he struggled to make an impact. However Lukaku has enjoyed a season back in the Serie A wit, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists.

Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta was speaking about Lukaku, but admitted his future lies in Chelsea’s hands.

“Romelu Lukaku loves the shirt he wears, he is very comfortable at Inter.

“These are fundamental aspects, the desire to be with us. But he is on loan until June 30.

“He will return to Chelsea, and we don’t know what will happen on a technical level at that club.

“At the moment we are at the window.”

So as things stand, he will return to Chelsea and start work with new coach Mauricio Pochettino. One of the Argentine’s biggest strengths as a coach is his man management, so he could get Romelu Lukaku back amongst the Premier League’s best.
