Real Madrid are considering Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi to replace Carlo Ancelotti next summer. Could he be the next Real Madrid manager?

With Brighton flying yet again in the Premier League, their manager De Zerbi is drawing attention from elsewhere. That elsewhere comes in the form of La Liga giants, Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are in the process of finding a replacement for Ancelotti who has confirmed he’ll be leaving the club next summer.

The famous Spanish side are said to be a fan of his attacking, free flowing play. They feel De Zerbi’s style of play would be a perfect fit for Real.

De Zerbi led Brighton to the FA Cup semi-final last season, and to a 6th place finish putting them in Europa League this season. Despite losing key players over the summer, Brighton have started this season just as they finished the last.

However, De Zerbi isn’t the only man Real are eyeing up to be the next Real Madrid manager. Former player, Xabi Alonso, is another man who has impressed early in his management career. He’s currently managing Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen, and Ancelotti has said he’s keen to see Alonso return to Madrid.

Who Will Be The Next Real Madrid Manager?

The job as manager of Real Madrid is a prestigious one. Given the prestige, it’ll be a hard one for anyone to turn down.

De Zerbi came in after Graham Potter left for Chelsea. Potter’s move failed and this may act as a warning to De Zerbi about leaving the great project at Brighton.

Alonso is loved at Real Madrid thanks to his playing time. A move back to Spain for him may be easier to say yes to.

Real Madrid aren’t the only club looking at Alonso. Chelsea are keeping tabs on Alonso with Mauricio Pochettino’s future in doubt after a poor start.

There are other names in the pipeline to be the next Real Madrid manager. Raúl, Zinedine Zidane and Didier Deschamps have also been mentioned.
