Real Madrid are considering a move for Spurs striker Harry Kane this summer if a new contract can’t be agreed with Karim Benzema.

According to Spanish outlet Libertad Digital, Los Blancos are prepared to snatch Kane from the grasps of Manchester United who are the current favourites at 5/2.

The interest is dependant on Benzema’s situation in Madrid, however. The 34-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of June and said he is taking his future ‘year by year’.

Harry Kane can become the sixth Englishman to play for Real Madrid

Only five English players have represented one of Europe’s most decorated clubs:

  • Laurie Cunningham (1979-1984)
  • Steve McManaman (1999-2003)
  • David Beckham (2003-2007)
  • Michael Owen (2004-2005)
  • Jonathan Woodgate (2004-2007)

Harry Kane is yet to win a major trophy in his senior career and his best shot at silverware would undoubtedly be Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side remain in the mix to win three different trophies this season:

Kane, 29, has won the joint most Premier League Player of the Month awards of all-time, tied at the top with Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero.

With 18 goals in the Premier League so far this season, the Spurs academy graduate trails only Erling Haaland (27) in the race for the Golden Boot.

In comparison, Benzema has scored 11 league goals for Real Madrid in 15 games this season. Kane has played and started 26 games for Spurs who sit fourth in the Premier League table.
