AC Milan star Rafael Leao is closing in on a new contract with the Champions League semi-finalists with the Portugal international set to snub a Premier League move.

With just one year remaining on his contract at the San Siro, Leao has been linked with a move away. Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester City are said to be interested in signing the Portuguese forward.

Milan have been desperate to extend Leao’s contract in the Italian capital, and could be edging closer towards their wish.

As per reports, Leao will sign a new five-year deal in Milan. The 23-year-old has scored 13 goals this season in all competitions and has as many assists to his name too, and could play a key part in Milan’s Champions League semi-final coming up this month.

AC Milan face noisy neighbours Inter Milan in the UCL this month, with the first of two legs getting underway on Wednesday 10th, with the second-leg the following Tuesday (16th May).

The winner of this fixture will face either Real Madrid or Manchester City in the final.

Whilst Chelsea may not land the signing of Leao, RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku looks set for a move to Stamford Bridge. The Frenchman has netted 18 goals this season, despite various injury problems in the past few months.
