FAMOUS FUNCTION (system – Donald McCain, non-handicap hurdles Bangor)
Since the beginning of 2011, Donald McCain is 69 from 240 in non-handicap hurdles at Bangor (28.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £56.70 to a £1 level stake at SP. FAMOUS FUNCTION has had wind surgery since opening his account at Fontwell in the spring and should have further improvement to come this term.

BLAKENEY POINT (system – Cartoon, small fields)
Offspring of the dam Cartoon tend to perform best in small fields and had we backed them all in fields of 11 or less we’d have won 23 of our 86 bets (26.7%) and made a profit of £77.27. BLAKENEY POINT is 11 from 36 on this system (+£55.66) and should run his usual solid race.
CATTERICK 4.39
RAIN CAP (system – Fountain Of Youth, turf, recent run)
Progeny of the sire Fountain Of Youth are 28 from 168 on turf after a very recent outing (15 days or less) for a huge profit of £312.25 to the usual £1 stake. Catterick expert RAIN CAP is six from 20 on this system (+£20.00) and will appreciate any ease in the ground.

KEMPTON 6.30
TRUE COURAGE (system – Kempton big-field handicaps, middle draw)
The inside rail has not been the place to be at Kempton of late putting those drawn low at a disadvantage. It can still be difficult to win from a very high draw and the angle this year has to been to side with stalls 6, 7 and 8 in handicaps of 10+ runners.
This system has produced 32 winners from 237 bets (13.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £66.16 to a £1 level stake at SP. Hasty Sailor, Tuxedo Junction and TRUE COURAGE are the three qualifiers, with preference for the last-named who is 2-2 on the all-weather.
KEMPTON 8.00
SHOWDIEMLAD (system – Showcasing, Polytrack, 6f-1m, finished fourth or worse last time out)
Progeny of the sire Showcasing have a solid record over 6f-1m on Polytrack and the most profitable angle to side with those who finished fourth or worse last time out. This system has thrown up 46 winners from 394 bets (11.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £115.96 to a £1 level stake at SP.
Robyn Brisland’s SHOWDIEMLAD trailed home last of five when 20-1 for a 6f handicap at Epsom last time but the switch to Polytrack for this first time could bring about improvement. He’s also a qualifier on the ‘middle draw’ system mention earlier (see 6.30 Kempton).
