LINGFIELD 1.55
WITCH HUNTER (system – Richard Hannon, second run since gelded)
Since the beginning of 2018, Richard Hannon is 22 from 93 with his runners having their second start since being gelded and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £56.20 to a £1 level stake at SP. WITCH HUNTER ran as though the race were needed when fourth of the five runners over today’s course and distance on his latest start and he’s likely to take a step forward today.
LUDLOW 2.15
LASKALIN (system – Venetia Williams handicap chasers, first run after a wind operation)
Venetia Williams has a very high strike-rate with handicap chasers on their first run after wind surgery, scoring with 12 of the 28 qualifiers (since wind operations had to be declared in January 2018) for a profit of £70.33 to a £1 level stake at SP. The yard has been in terrific form recently with seven winners from 28 runners in the past fortnight and LASKALIN can keep the ball rolling.
DUNDALK 5.30
COLD STEEL (system – Andrew Oliver, first run in an all-weather handicap)
Andrew Oliver does well when he pitches one of his runners into an all-weather handicap for the first time, regardless of whether they had previously run in a handicap on turf or not. Since the beginning of 2011, 15 of the 101 qualifiers have won for a profit of £75.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. COLD STEEL ran well when a close up fourth in a Leopardstown handicap and could go well on his Polytrack debut.
KEMPTON 7.20
AGUAPLANO (system – Marco Botti all-weather handicappers, fresh)
Marco Botti does very well with his all-weather handicappers, especially those returning from a break of at least six weeks. Had we blindly backed all 247 qualifiers since the beginning of 2017, we’d have found 45 winners (18.2% strike rate) for a profit of £116.66 to a £1 level stake at SP. AGUAPLANO landed a course and distance handicap on his last outing and, after a short break, can go in again.
