AYR 2.50

GLOBAL HUMOR (system – very recent outing)

GLOBAL HUMOR, a four-time Ayr winner, has a fine record when returned to the track very quickly (five days or sooner), recording form figures of 116161335 (4-9), including course figures of 11615 (3-5). The veteran finished a respectable fourth at Hamilton five days ago and looks a solid each-way play if anything like the forecast 15-2.

YARMOUTH 3.30

BLUE POINT EXPRESS (system – Charlie Johnston, juvenile debutantes)

The Johnston yard does well with two-year-old fillies on their racecourse debuts, especially in sprints (5f-6f). Since the beginning of 2012, they’ve won with 55 of the 244 qualifiers (22.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £96.61 to a £1 level stake at SP. Substitute was a 14-1 winner on this angle just three days ago and perhaps BLUE POINT EXPRESS can add to the profits.

KEMPTON 5.25

BAROQUE BUOY (system – George Scott, all-weather handicappers)

George Scott has a solid recent record in all-weather handicaps, scoring with 31 of the 116 qualifiers (26.7%) since the beginning of 2022 for a profit of £28.33 (expected winners = 20.54, A/E = 1.51). BAROQUE BUOY clocked a good speed figure when beaten by a short head over course and distance on last month’s handicap debut, form that was franked when the winner (Midnight Drive) followed up. The fourth also gave the form a lift when a close-up third at Redcar earlier this week and Baroque Buoy could have further improvement to come now fitted with a first-time tongue-tie.

SOUTHWELL 6.10

GLENCASSLEY (system – Charlie Longsdon chasers, first-time cheekpieces)

Charlie Longsdon does well with chasers in first-time cheekpieces, scoring with 18 of the 76 qualifiers (23.7%) for a profit of £26.60 (expected winners = 10.97, A/E = 1.64). GLENCASSLEY will appreciate today’s small field – his record in fields of seven or fewer stands at 1115413 (4-7) – and the switch to a left-handed track, as well as the headgear, could bring about improvement.
