Progeny of the sire Fast Company love the mud and the sire’s record with his Flat runners on soft or heavy going stands at 110 winners from 818 bets for a profit of £38.55. That’s only a 4.7% return on investment but it improves to 38% by taking the best evening price before racing.
PHOENIX FIRE finished well held on Southwell’s Tapeta surface last time but his debut sixth of 15 at Redcar was especially encouraging as it came on good to firm going. He could surprise now running on soft turf for the first time and is worth a speculative each-way interest.

INDICATION ROCKET (system – top 4 on Newcastle’s Tapeta last time out after making the running)
INDICATION ROCKET caught the eye from off the pace when a 16-1 fourth at Redcar on September’s nursery debut and he did very well to finish a half-length runner-up at Newcastle next time, as he made the running, tactics that usually result in defeat on the round course.
He pulled over four lengths clear of the third and the son of Dandy Man shouldn’t have an issue with the soft conditions when he returns to Redcar for this 1m nursery. Simply backing any horse who finished in the top four over 1m2f+ on Newcastle’s Tapeta surface after making the running last time would have found 52 winners from 239 runners (21.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £89.45 to the usual £1 stake.

A LADY FOREVER (system – Robyn Brisland, very recent run)
Simply backing any Robyn Brisland-trained runner who ran between one and seven days ago would have found 26 winners from 105 bets for a profit of £44.67 to a £1 level stake at SP. A LADY FOREVER ran respectably here just four days ago and, while we’re unlikely to see the best of her until handicapping, she might be able to out-run odds of around 40-1 and chase home the 1-5 favourite Light Of Peace.
