Prior to bank holiday Monday’s racing blindly backing all progeny of the sire Fast Company in Flat handicaps on good to soft or softer going would have found 124 winners from 974 bets (12.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £79.44. STOP PRESS – those profits were boosted by 40-1 winner Shimmerz at the Curragh yesterday. Richard Spencer’s THEFASTNTHECURIOUS hasn’t had many opportunities on slow turf but she recorded by far her best RPR (Racing Post Rating) when a 33-1 second of 14 on good to soft going at Sandown in the summer of 2021 and, fit from the all-weather, should find conditions to her liking in this Class 5 handicap. YARMOUTH 4.00
REGAL RAMBLER (system – Alice Haynes, handicap debutants)
Alice Haynes is eight from 39 with her handicap debutants and backing them blind would have returned a lovely profit of £71.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. REGAL RAMBLER disappointed in first-time cheekpieces in a 1m2f Chelmsford novice contest last time but the headgear is left off this time and the return to 1m will suit on his handicap debut.
