LE CAMELEON (system – seasonal preference)
LE CAMELEON surprised me by making a winning reappearance at Warwick in early October as the Jane Williams yard was badly out of form at the time. He was only seventh at Chepstow’s Welsh National meeting in late December but might have needed a confidence booster on the back of a Fontwell fall earlier that month. He often comes good at this time of year, recording form figures of 61211FF141 (5-10) from January to March for a profit of £9.70 to a £1 level stake at SP, and is worth chancing to bounce back today.

ISSAR d’AIRY (system – Gary Moore long travellers, SP favourites)
Since the spring of 2016, Gary Moore hasn’t got the greatest record with his long travellers, defined as those who are asked to race more than 100 miles from his West Sussex base. Had we backed all 725 qualifiers we’d only have found 87 winners (12%) and made a loss of over £200 to a £1 level stake at SP. However, those who started as favourite were 44 from 107 (41.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £32.69 to a £1 level stake at SP. ISSAR d’AIRY also qualifies as a bet for me on a last-time-out winners system and the 11-8 favourite is likely to prove hard to beat under a 7lb penalty for last week’s 12-length Lingfield romp.
