This century (prior to yesterday’s racing), Venetia Williams is 69 from 284 (24.3% strike-rate) with her handicappers in the month of December who had the benefit of a recent run (within the past four weeks) and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £87.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. ENJOY YOUR LIFE won well over course and distance last time, is unlikely to have an issue with the forecast soft conditions and a 7lb rise could still underestimate his ability.

LOADED GUN (system – Andrew Balding, second run since gelded)
Since racing resumed after lockdown in June 2020, Andrew Balding is 27 from 104 with his runners having their second start after a gelding operation. Backing them all would have returned a profit of £17.80 to a £1 level stake at SP and LOADED GUN can further boost that figure. He was beaten by almost five lengths when a 10-1 fourth of seven at Wolverhampton last time but that form was boosted when the winner/runner-up – Habrdi and Gaiden – ran one-two again at Chelmsford next time.
