SOURIYAN (system – Sean Bowen, Ffos Las chases)
Sean Bowen has a great record over fences at Ffos Las, scoring on 37 of his 125 mounts (29.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £49.74 to a £1 level stake at SP. SOURIYAN is without a win since July 2018 but was off the track for the best part of three years prior to his 34-length last of six over hurdles at Warwick in late September. He’s been well beaten twice since, including on his return to fences at Market Rasen last time, but it’s interesting that connections have persevered with the 11-year-old and he might be worth a small each-way interest.

YOUR SPIRIT (system – Invincible Spirit, first-time visor, all-weather)
Progeny of the sire Invincible Spirit have a good record on the all-weather when fitted with a first-time visor, with nine of the 38 qualifiers winning for a profit of £22.08 to a £1 level stake at SP. Eight-race maiden YOUR SPIRIT wasn’t best positioned when the pace quickened at Lingfield last time and is worth a speculative interest to bounce back in a new headgear combination. I’ve also bet LUCY LIGHTFOOT, who ran better than her finishing position suggested at Kempton last time.
CHELMSFORD 6.30
MIGHTY RIVER (system – James Tate in all-weather nurseries & favourites in Chelmsford nurseries)
James Tate has a cracking record in nurseries on the all-weather and MIGHTY RIVER, a shade of odds-on at the time of writing, should take all the beating under William Buick. The son of Siyouni – a sire that gets plenty of winners on Polytrack – won in novice company on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface earlier this month and was unlucky not to score at Kempton the time before. Favourites have a great recent record in nurseries at Chelmsford, winning 20 of the 49 such races since racing resumed after lockdown in June 2020 for a profit of £16.62 to a £1 level stake at SP.
