I was against him over this course and distance on his reappearance last month and he trailed home 34 lengths behind the winner in fifth place despite starting at just 6-1. He’s even shorter in the betting this time and can be sold at 14 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

With rain around on ground already described as ‘good’, underfoot conditions could be too slow for recent Redcar winner TALAMANCA in this 7f nursery. He might have been flattered by that 6f success on good to firm ground, as he made the running against the far side rail from the best of the draw in stall 1 of 11. The third, fourth and fifth have let the form down since and this race looks tougher.
