This looks a good race to get involved with, as there are two horses near the head of the betting who could struggle. POST CHAISE is the 19-22 favourite in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market (fixed odds price of 11-4) but he looked flattered under a patient ride when runner-up at Haydock last time. The pace collapsed that day and the winner, runner-up and fourth all came from midfield. He started as the 6-4 favourite and even with the race run to suit still couldn’t get within seven and a half lengths of the winner. He has now been beaten as favourite on his last three starts and makes his chase debut today. DIEGOS WAY, beaten by 32 lengths when a 9-4 shot on soft ground at Hexham last time, looks vulnerable on deep going again and can be sold at 11 in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with mudlark BALLYBREEN.

KEMPTON JOCKEYS
TOM MARQUAND has been riding in Japan this winter and it must be something of a shock to the system to be back at the likes of Kempton on a cold January day. Marquand perhaps struggles for motivation on the all-weather at this time of year and his combined record in the last three Januarys stands at just 17 winners from 173 rides (less than 10% strike-rate) for a loss of £112.19 to a £1 level stake at SP. His expected number of winners was 29. He has six mounts priced at 7-2 or shorter at Kempton tonight but I’m going to risk a small sell with Spreadex in the KEMPTON JOCKEYS market.
