He failed to shine on his only other bumper effort when a well beaten 15th of 16, a massive 147 lengths behind the winner at Ballinrobe earlier this year and he’s worth opposing today. HEATHERDOWN HERO has proved a model of consistency on the all-weather this year, recording form figures of 3323215 (1-7). His sole success came in Class 6 company over 1m6f at Chelmsford on his penultimate start where scored narrowly under a power-packed Kevin Stott ride. The step up to Class 4 level ended his run of win/placed efforts when returned to the Essex venue for his latest start but he still finished a respectable two-length fifth to the Charles Hills-trained Vaynor. The drop back down to Class 6 level will help tonight and the switch to Tapeta won’t be an issue – his two course runs produced a half-length third at 9-1 and a 9-2 neck second. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
