Nigel Tinkler’s DANDY DINMONT ended last season on a high when a surprise 33-1 winner of a 5f Newcastle handicap but proved that was no fluke when returning in a similar vein of form this season. He showed his well-being when narrowly beaten on his first two starts back at Gosforth Park, finding Pockley a neck too good before going down by a half-length to the improving Badri on his second outing. Badri looks well ahead of his current mark and scored an emphatic success here at Beverley last week when DANDY DINMONT was back in third, doing well to finish where he did after encountering serious traffic problems. He left the firm impression that he would have finished ahead of runner-up Ventura Flame granted a clear passage and can reverse the form with that rival this afternoon. Back him each-way with Spreadex or buy in the 50-25-10 market.

CHELMSFORD 6.15
G’DAAY seems most effective on local tracks and it’s possible that the less time he spends on the road the better he performs. His record when travelling to tracks in excess of 70 miles from his Newmarket base is 54730428531975 (1-14), as compared to 42214213115 (4-11) on shorter journeys. He’s proved very effective at Chelmsford in the past, scoring back-to-back victories over course and distance last autumn and although a shade disappointing on his last visit in December, he may have needed a break after a long season. He’s been freshened up since and the booking of top jockey Oisin Murphy suggests he could be ready to strike on his seasonal debut. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a price in the fixed odds betting.
