VICTORY ECHO was placed third of 11 when 80-1 for a course and distance handicap last time, a cracking run as he would have been in need of that after 141 days off the track. He won on his second completed start in the 2019/2020 jumps campaign, and again the following season, and he could be in receipt of an easy lead here. The draw played an important role in the 7f Book Your Christmas Party Here Handicap at Chelmsford on September 24th, with the first five home drawn in stalls 1, 2, 10, 3 and 4 of 14. The outlier was third-placed MONAADHIL (stall 10) who, as well as doing best of those drawn high, also emerged best of those to come from off the pace.
Ruth Carr’s veteran has a good record here in cheekpieces, recording form figures of 42133 (1-5) and is better berthed in stall 5 this time. A strong pace will see him hard to keep out of contention and he can be bough in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or supported each-way.

CHELMSFORD 7.30
FLAVIUS TITUS, 9-4 joint-favourite at the time of writing, could be vulnerable in this 6f handicap. He looked flattered when scoring from off the pace at Ripon last time, as the pacesetters went off too hard and it played into the hands of those ridden patiently.
The close-up third from that race, the patiently-ridden Patontheback, finished unplaced on his next start as did fourth-home Flying Pursuit, who also came from off the pace. Such tactics are usually hard to pull off round here and the advice is to sell him in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
