AINSDALE has won four of his seven starts in the month of October and it’s possible that Julie Camacho’s son of Mayson has improved for the switch to his current handler this term. He didn’t see out the stiff 6f when a respectable 50-1 fourth in the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle on May’s stable debut and was only beaten by a little over two lengths when fourth on unsuitably fast ground in the Beverley Bullet in late August. He looked set the win the 6f Group 3 Bengough Stakes on this card last year but the 28-1 shot didn’t quite see out the trip after trading at short odds in running, finishing a close-up fourth. The rain has arrived in time, and he looks over-priced. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (7-1 at the time of writing).

HAMISH is a short-priced favourite for the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes but could be vulnerable on the back of a very recent outing. The Williams Haggas-trained six-year-old has a fine record when fresh, scoring at Chester on his seasonal debut back in May and returning from a 129-day break to run Kyprios Close in the Group 1 Irish St Leger at the Curragh. He’s only been returned to the track within six weeks on four occasions, recording form figures of 3247 (0-4), with the defeats at odds of 4-7, 4-7, 11-2 and 6-4. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with GET SHIRTY, whose record for David O’Meara on soft ground reads 111 (3-3). CRESTA is also respected.
