CREATIVE FORCE, absent since July, and KINROSS, probably poorly drawn in stall 17, could both prove vulnerable in the Qipco British Champion Sprint Stakes and I can see ART POWER going off as favourite. He headed the market at 3-1 for this race 12 months ago but was beaten by the draw, doing well to finish fourth from stall 18 of 20 behind runners drawn 5, 2 and 4.
Highland Princess, fifth from stall 20, fared second best of those drawn high and has franked the form on several occasions. Art Power didn’t reappear until late August this year, finding 7f too far on unsuitably fast ground at York before his Haydock Sprint Cup eighth, again on the wrong sort of ground.
He bolted up on soft going at the Curragh last time – the same race he prepped in last year – and he looks well drawn in stall 8 this time around. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price (5-1 at the time of writing).

CHECKANDCHALLENGE has the come-from-behind style that is usually so effective on the straight course at Ascot and he can cause an upset in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. William Knight’s three-year-old is bred to appreciate plenty of cut in the ground but didn’t encounter it until his latest outing when third at 15-1 in a Group 2 contest at Longchamp.
He had a desperate draw in the 2000 Guineas, beating only one home, but his other runs on good/softer turf or the all-weather have produced form figures of 1113 (3-4). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take an each-way price (16-1 at the time of writing).

Barring accidents, it’s highly likely that BAAEED will win the Qipco Champion Stakes but the bet in the race is the Sir Michael Stoute-trained BAY BRIDGE, who found conditions too quick when disappointing in the Coral-Eclipse.
Since his racecourse debut, his record when racing on good/softer turf or Tapeta reads 11111 (5-5) and he can chase the favourite home. As ever with Spreadex, we have several options – buy in the 50-25-10 market, back him each-way at fixed odds or back him in the ‘without the favourite’ market.
