KEMPTON STARTING PRICES
Kempton’s opening handicap has been something of a graveyard for favourites since its inception in 2018, with the six winners (there were two divisions last year and in 2019) priced at 20-1, 16-1, 12-1, 10-1, 10-1 and 8-1. With two division again this year STARTING PRICE buyers could be off to a flyer.
HELLAVAPACE, forecast to start as the 7-2 favourite in division one, has a poor strike-rate (1-27) and could be vulnerable again while division two’s 5-2 forecast favourite BANBROOK BOY is by Rock Of Gibraltar, whose progeny have underperformed at this venue.
The 3.03 (13-runner 1m handicap) and 4.13 (a 3-1 the field Listed race) both look open and competitive, as does the London Middle Distance Final (4.45). The concluding fillies’ handicap that closes the card features only eight runners but the favourite was beaten in the three previous runnings of this race and it could be another good contest for SP buyers.

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.30
With odds-on favourite QUEEN OF IPANEMA stuck out wide in stall 11 it might be worth taking her on with DANGEROUS RASCAL. Paul & Oliver Cole’s three-year-old has hardly set the world alight in two runs for the yard after leaving Tom Ward but he did show a little more when six and a half lengths back in eighth at Kempton last time and he’s been well found in the market in both runs for current connections. The blinkers go on today – a very strong positive angle for the Cole yard – and he can cause a minor upset. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back each-way.
