The Racing Post’s Spotlight writer Graham Wheldon was in good form at Southwell yesterday and he makes some strong and convincing arguments for BLUE COLLAR LAD (12.23), MOHATU (12.53), INCRIMINATION (1.23) and HIT MAC (1.53) in the first four races at Lingfield today. Dave Moon takes over for the 2.23 race – he goes for the William Haggas-trained AESTHETIC – and we might have the spread of 74-78 covered by this point, before Wheldon weighs in with fancied selections in the 2.53 and 3.23

NEWCASTLE JOCKEYS
HOLLIE DOYLE, recently returned from a stint in Japan, has already ridden a couple of winners at Lingfield/Southwell and she has a cracking book of rides at Newcastle today. NOISY NIGHT, evens for the 4.10, and ABBEY’S DREAM, a 5-4 shot in the 3.38, are her two shortest-priced mounts but she also has four others priced between 11-4 and 5-1. One of those, OLD NEWS (3.08) will improve for his fifth place here last week and won the corresponding race 12 months ago. Her biggest-priced ride, John Quinn’s BRAZEN BOLT (4.40), is incredibly consistent and it’s hard not to see him picking up points, even if it’s for second or third. Doyle can be bought in the Spreadex NEWCASTLE JOCKEYS market, while fixed odds punters might want to combine her mounts in a multiple bet.
