The first defeat came by just a head when 150-1 and the latest by three lengths when probably failing to see out the 1m6f trip. He runs off a mark of 76 today, the same mark he won off at Leicester last October, and he’s worth a buy at 12 in the Spreadex 50-25-10. Fixed odds punters can back him each-way at 13-2.

SOUTHWELL 5.45
GOLDEN APOLLO won over course and distance last time – his visit to Southwell – but Tim Easterby’s veteran has a modest record immediately following a win, recording form figures of 4143808 (1-7). He’s also poorly drawn in stall 1 and six of his eight wins have come when cutting back in trip from 6.5f or 7f, something he isn’t doing today. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with MAMILLIUS, who will appreciate the return to a left-handed track.
