FIRST IMPRESSION has yet to race at Ayr over hurdles but his Flat record here stands at 1141 (3-4) and he’ll be happier back on easy turf after trailing home last in a 1m2f handicap on Tapeta last time. Oisin Murphy has a good recent record when riding for Brian Meehan, scoring on 11 of his 41 mounts since the beginning of 2019 for a profit of £63.60 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 5.78). Nine of those were making their racecourse debut and three won for a profit of £28.50 (two others were placed at 20-1 and 9-1). AMERICAN TALE could be worth chancing at double-figure odds on his first outing. Buy at 9 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
