ARINNITI (system – Paddy Twomey stable switchers)
In-form Paddy Twomey has a fine record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 11 of the 29 qualifiers (38% strike-rate) for a profit of £50.09 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who were having only their second career start were three from three for a profit of £31.61. ARINNITI, second by just half a length at Naas on her debut for Natalia Lupini, can go one better for her new yard.

TWO TEMPTING (system – London Mile Series Final, high draw)
Those drawn very high have a cracking record in this race, as the big field often produces a strong pace and allows the high-drawn closers to swoop down the centre of the track. Simply backing all horses drawn 12+ would have found six winners from 34 bets for a profit of £66.50. The three qualifiers are Cabinet Maker, Morgan Fairy and TWO TEMPTING, with preference for the last-named who also qualifies on the powerful ‘New Bay handicappers’ system.

KINGDOM OF DREAMS (system – James Tate, nurseries, recent run)
Trainer James Tate has a fine record in nurseries (handicaps for two-year-olds), with horse who raced within the past four weeks, scoring with 32 of his 122 representatives (26.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £26.89 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners only 22.61). His strike-rate improves to 30.8% on the all-weather (20 winners from 65 runners, +£21.55) and KINGDOM OF DREAMS is taken to get off the mark for his in-form yard.
WOLVERHAMPTON 5.15
ICE’O’LATION (system – Clive Cox, Kodi Bear & Clive Cox, second-time out 2yos, quick return, top 5 on debut)
Clive Cox saddled Kodi Bear to win four times in Listed/Group company and he’s done well with the sire’s progeny, scoring with eight of the 37 qualifiers for a profit of £17.28. Perhaps more interesting is the trainer’s record with second-time-out two-year-olds who were making a quick return to action (within 14 days) having shown ability on their debuts by recording a top-five finish. He’s won with 12 of the 28 qualifiers since 2012 for a profit of £19.36. ICE’O’LATION displayed good early speed when running fourth at Lingfield a fortnight ago and should come on a bundle for that experience.
ASCOT 5.30
VENTURA FLAME (system – stiff tracks)
VENTURA FLAME has won seven of his 24 starts on tracks with stiff uphill finishes and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £36.08 to a £1 level stake at SP. He’s better equipped than most to cope with any easing of the going (it’s described as ‘good (watered)’ with showers forecast) and he ran with credit against the strong draw bias at the Royal meeting in 2019 on his only previous course outing.
