Andrew heads to Ayr, Sandown (where there is an 8am inspection) and Wolverhampton for his four selections on Saturday, March 11th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
AYR 2.45
ARDERA CROSS (system – Ayr chases, won an Ayr chase last time out)
Ayr chase winners have a great record when bidding to follow up in a similar race, landing 28 of their 79 starts (35.4%) since 2010 for a profit of £47.99. ARDERA CROSS has contributed three of those wins (from four such starts) and the veteran looks the value in the race (9-2 at the time of writing).
WOLVERHAMPTON 2.40
HARRY’S BAR (system – James Doyle, Wolverhampton, non-handicaps)
James Doyle has a fantastic recent record in non-handicaps at Wolverhampton, scoring on 32 of his 69 mounts (46.4% strike-rate) since the beginning of 2018 for a profit of £41.57 to a £1 level stake at SP. HARRY’S BAR hasn’t won over this 7f trip since the summer of 2020 but still looks worth a small interest in this Listed contest.
SANDOWN 3.00
JEUNE BELLE (system – Lucy Wadham, second run in a bumper)
Lucy Wadham has a solid record with her runners having their second career start in a national hunt flat race, scoring with ten of the 53 qualifiers (19%) since 2010 for a profit of £58.00. Telepathique was an 11-1 winner for this column on the same angle last month and perhaps JEUNE BELLE can follow suit. She was only third at Wetherby on her debut but started as favourite that day and the form was boosted by the fourth, Hierarchy, an 18-1 Ayr winner on her next outing.
WOLVERHAMPTON 3.15
COCO JAMBOO (system – Marco Botti, turf to Tapeta switchers)
Marco Botti has a cracking record when switching a runner from turf to Tapeta, scoring with 64 of the 279 qualifiers for a profit of £115.07 to a £1 level stake at SP. He also does well with three and four-year-olds running on the all-weather after a break, so COCO JAMBOO, a winner over 7f at Newmarket in September when we last saw her, could be the one to side with here.
