DAN DE PRINCE (system – Tom Dascombe, restricted novice races)
Tom Dascombe is six from 20 with his runners in restricted novice stakes and backing them all would have returned a profit of £24.66 to a £1 level stake at SP. Four of the beaten horses finished second and two more ran third. The market has been a good guide to their chances, with those who started at odds of 16-1 or shorter recording form figures of 2271121113623 (6-14) for a profit of £30.66. All six winners had the benefit of previous experience, but he’s twice gone close with newcomers and perhaps DAN DEE PRINCE, the 9-2 second favourite at the time of writing, can make a winning start to his career.

SYDNEY MEWS (system – New Bay, handicaps, top-three finish last time out)
SYDNEY MEWS is a five-race maiden, but she improved when switched to handicap company, doing best of the hold-up horses when a one-length third at Kempton last September before her narrow second over today’s course and distance the following month. The Andrew Balding yard has been quiet of late but she’s the 10-1 outsider of five and is worth a small interest.

SARAH’S VERSE (system – time of year)
SARAH’S VERSE has a strong seasonal pattern to her form, recording form figures in April or May of 1341181521 (5-10) for a profit of £24.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. The Ron Harris-trained six-year-old made a successful return to turf at Bath last time and, granted a decent gallop to chasse, might prove capable of following up.
