Andrew found 16-5 Wetherby winner MAHANAKHON from two picks on Sunday and has three more on bank holiday Monday, May 1st. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
BATH 2.25
CEILIDH KING (system – Hugh Morrison, early-season handicap debutants on turf)
Since the beginning of the 2012 season, backing all Hughie Morrison-trained handicap debutants on turf in March, April or May would have found 11 winners from 57 bets (19.3% strike-rate) for a profit of ÂŁ38.00 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 6.91). The colts and geldings were nine from 33 (27.3%) for a profit of ÂŁ41.50. CEILIDH KING looks a likely improver now gelded and switched to handicap company on his three-year-old debut.
WARWICK 2.37
A DIFFERENT KIND (system – Donald McCain, handicap chase debutants)
Donald McCain has a fine recent record with handicap chase debutants, scoring with 15 of the 47 qualifiers since the start of 2021 (32% strike-rate) for a profit of ÂŁ38.43 to the usual ÂŁ1 stake. A DIFFERENT VIEW placed at 28-1 in a hot 20-runner Class 2 handicap hurdle at the Aintree festival last month and looks an interesting recruit to the chasing game. He finished second to Marvel De Cerisy in his sole point-to-point outing and that one is now rated 141 and was last seen chasing home Jonbon, albeit at a respectful distance, in Grade 1 novice chase company at Aintree.
BATH 2.58
SUCCESSION (system – Clive Cox, second-time out 2yo, top five on debut, quick return)
Clive Cox’s juvenile newcomers usually come on considerably for the run and it always pays to sit up and take notice when he brings one back to the track quickly (14 days or sooner). The qualifiers who showed promise on debut by finishing in the top five won 12 of their 29 starts (41.4%) for a profit of £18.36. On turf only, that improves to 11 from 23 (47.8%) for a profit of £22.56. SUCCESSION showed good early speed before running green and fading into fourth at Newbury on his debut and should know more today. The ease in the ground will be idea for this son of Showcasing.
