In-form Robyn Brisland does exceptionally well when bringing one of his runners back to the races very quickly (seven days or sooner), scoring with 20 of the 79 qualifiers (25.3%) for a profit of £37.42. Those who raced between one and five days ago were 13 from 38 (34.2%) for a profit of £53.55. BLUE COLLAR LAD, a course and distance winner on his penultimate start, didn’t seem to handle the track when a modest third at Wolverhampton just three days ago and can bounce back today.

GOLD CUP BAILLY (system – Ayr chase, won Ayr chase last time out)
Ayr chase winners have a great record when bidding to follow up in another chase at the same venue, with 26 of the 73 qualifiers scoring since 2010 (35.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £43.99 to a £1 level stake at SP. GOLD CUP BAILLY scored with something up his sleeve over the extended 2m4f trip here in late November and this point-to-point winner is worth another crack at three miles. He was well beaten on his last attempt over this sort of trip but simply failed to handle the right-handed track at Carlisle.
