PERFECT RUBY (system – Richard Hannon, Kempton nurseries with all-weather handicap debutants)
The Hannon yard does well in nurseries at Kempton, especially with runners making their all-weather handicap debut. Since 2015, they’ve scored with ten of the 56 qualifiers (17.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £20.63 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 5.98, A/E = 1.67). PERFECT RUBY lines up in this 1m nursery on the back of three ‘duck eggs’ but the switch from turf to Polytrack and step up from 6f to 7f can bring about the required improvement.
KEMPTON 3.55
BRIZE NORTON (system – Ardad, two-year-old debut)
Juvenile progeny of the sire Ardad often go well at the first time of asking, landing 14 of their 135 starts (10.4%) for a profit of £158.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. That strike-rate is nothing special and the profit is mostly down to one huge-priced winner but plenty of the beaten horses ran well in defeat and BRIZE NORTON, the first runner from this sire for Ralph Beckett, look set to go well on his debut.
