REDCAR 1.59
ROCKONMECCA (system – Michael Dods, second-time out 2yos)
The betting for this 6f novice contest is dominated by high-drawn runners, yet there has been a strong bias towards those drawn low-to-middle on the straight course at Redcar for several years. The bias was stronger than ever at the last meeting and, with a favourite drawn 10 of 15 and the third/fourth favourites drawn 12 and 13 this looks a very playable race.
ROCKONMECCA has a fair draw in stall 7 and with Michael Dods second-time out juveniles showing a profit of £68.22 to a £1 stake in the past ten years thanks to 40 winners from 235 bets, she’s likely to take a big step forward from her debut sixth at Pontefract where she completely blew the start.
NEWCASTLE 6.15
BRONZE RIVER (system – Archipenko, turf to all-weather switch, fresh)
Progeny of the sire Archipenko have a superior strike-rate on the all-weather and make good bets when switching from turf to an artificial surface, especially when returned from a short break (more than four weeks). Backing all the qualifiers would have found 21 winners from 130 bets for a profit of ÂŁ65.50.
BRONZE RIVER will appreciate the return to synthetics after his Yarmouth fourth back in May and it’s interesting to note that his last two wins have come in the corresponding week – October 15th last year and October 17th in 2019.
NEWCASTLE 7.45
FISCAL POLICY (system – Kubler yard, long travellers)
Daniel & Claire Kubler have a god record with horses travelling more than 250 miles to the races, scoring with 15 of the 71 qualifiers for a profit of ÂŁ57.05 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP. The bulk of those profits came here at Newcastle (+ÂŁ50.88) and FISCAL POLICY, a winner at Kempton last time, is taken to follow up despite a slight reservation about his stall 1 draw.
