NEWMARKET 4.10
SOPRANO (system – Starspangledbanner, 2yo debut, turf)
Juvenile progeny of the sire Starspangledbanner have a good record when making their racecourse debuts on turf, landing 24 of their 160 starts (15%) for a profit of £52.36 to a £1 level stake at SP. They proved particularly effective at 5f and the George Boughey-trained SOPRANO can make a winning start to her career in this fillies’ maiden.
NEWCASTLE 6.10
FLYING CIRCUS (system – Marco Botti, turf to Tapeta switchers)
FLYING CIRCUS finished a creditable 18-1 third in a soft-ground 1m fillies’ maiden at Doncaster last backend and looks set to appreciate the switch to the all-weather on her reappearance. Marco Botti has a fine record when switching one of his runners from turf to Tapeta, scoring with 65 of the 285 qualifiers for a profit of £120.18 to a £1 level stake at SP.
CORK 6.25
TOSEN WISH (system – New Bay handicappers, top three finish last time out)
Progeny of the sire New Bay have a cracking record in handicaps on the back of a top three finish, landing 66 of their 200 starts (33.1%) for a profit of £109.57 to a £1 level stake at SP. TOSEN WISH, a winner at Navan on his final juvenile outing, returned after a 469-day absence to score at Dundalk in February. The subsequent three-month break can be viewed positively and he’s worth an each-way bet in this Premier Handicap.
