Howlingmadmurdoch, highlighted in this column on Tuesday, was the third winner from seven qualifiers for this system this year and BEAN NORTY could be worth chancing on her first start in handicap company.

RELEASE THE KRAKEN (system – Laura Morgan, hurdle to chase switchers)
Laura Morgan has a 19 from 79 record when switching a horse from hurdles to fences and backing them blind would have returned an excellent profit of £118.70 to a £1 level stake at SP. RELEASE THE KRAKEN unseated his rider at the third fence when a well fancied 11/10 favourite for his yard and chase debut at Fakenham in November and has failed to complete on his last two starts over hurdles. He could benefit from a return to the larger obstacles and looks worth an interest to small stakes.

BORAGH EMPRESS (system – Barry J Fitzgerald/ Luke McAteer combination)
Barry J Fitzgerald has a seven from 43 record when using apprentice jockey Luke McAteer (16.3% strike-rate) for a profit of £34.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. McAteer takes the ride on BORAGH EMPRESS, who nearly caused an upset when a 66/1 second for previous trainer Ciaran Murphy on his latest start over the extended 1m2f at this venue in October and could go one place better on his return for new connections.
