Rachael Blackmore With Three Rides on Cheltenham Day 2
Rachael Blackmore was crowned the Champion Jockey of the Year back in 2021 for her mesmerising performance at the Cheltenham Festival. She won a staggering six races, including a second and third place finish too. This year, she will be hoping to replicate that form with a stellar showing at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
On Day 2, Rachael Blackmore has four rides on Wednesday 15th March. These rides include Gin On Lime in Cross Country Chase and Watch House Cross in the Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle.
Blackmore, who also won the 2022 Gold Cup with A Plus Tard, also has two other rides at huge prices on Day 2 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
She’s also got Amirite for trainer Henry De Bromhead in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase (2:10) and Captain Guinness in the Queen Mother Champion Chase (3:30).
Blackmore is priced at 10/1 with leading bookmaker Paddy Power to be the 2023 Cheltenham Festival Champion Jockey.

What Horses Is Rachael Blackmore Riding On Day 2 Of The 2023 Cheltenham Festival?
Wednesday 15th March 2023
AMIRITE (Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase – 14.10): @ 50/1 with Paddy Power
Rachael Blackmore’s first ride on Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival comes in the form of Amirite in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at 2.10pm. The 7-year-old is priced at a huge 66/1, and could be a tasty each-way bet in this race.
Amirite is in good form, with two wins and two place finishes in his last six races. This is the gelding’s first ever race at Cheltenham and could be a huge outsider bet in the Brown Advisory here on Day 2.
WATCH HOUSE CROSS (Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle – 14.50): @ 20/1 with Paddy Power
Blackmore’s next ride on Day 2 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival comes in the Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle where she sits in the saddle of 18/1 shot Watch House Cross.
This Henry De Bromhead trained 6-year-old is set to make his first run at Cheltenham, and is again a relative outsider here. He did win at Naas back in November in the Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle, and if he can replicate this form, Blackmore has a chance as an outsider to win this competitive race.
CAPTAIN GUINNESS (Queen Mother Champion Chase – 15.30): @ 20/1 with Paddy Power
The Irish jockey’s third ride on Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival comes in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at 3.30pm. This race looks like it is between Edwardstone and Energumene, but Captain Guinness has performed well at Cheltenham before.
In 201 Captain Guinness finished third behind Shishkin and Eldorado Allen in the Arkle Novices’ Chase. The gelding is the biggest priced horse in this race, but doers boast some strong recent form with two wins and a runner-up in his last five starts.
GIN ON LIME (Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase): @ 16/1 with Paddy Power
Blackmore’s fourth and final ride on Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival comes in the Cross Country Chase in the form of Gin On Lime at 4.10pm. Again, this race looks dominated by Gordon Elliott horses in Delta Work and Galvin, but this 7-year-old could be a good each-way bet at 18/1 odds.
Gin On Lime won at Cheltenham in November 2021, so has performed well around this track before. This looks like a big ask for the 7-year-old, but do not rule out Rachael Blackmore form pulling off an incredible ride on this one.
