Arsenal restored their five point gap at the summit on Wednesday evening to ensure the Premier League title race remains firmly in their grasp for another gameweek, and with 13 games left to play, it is worth comparing the remaining fixture list for the current pack leaders.

Despite experiencing a significant drop in form throughout February, leaders Arsenal managed to rectify a three-game winless run to restore their hopes of a first Premier League title in nearly 20 years.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville went as far as admitting he thought the Gunners ‘were done’ after losing 3-1 to title rivals Manchester City, and is ‘surprised’ to see them remain on top with a solid points gap intact.

Everton were the latest victims of Arsenal’s resurgence in form, enduring a midweek massacre at the hands of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, who both moved into double figures for goals, and became the first duo from the same club to do so this term.

However, with plenty of tricky fixtures ahead, Pep Guardiola and his serial-winning side have both the know-how and considerable squad depth in order to challenge Arsenal, who are largely inexperienced when it comes to lifting silverware.

All eyes are on the return fixture against Manchester City at the end of April, and the Gunners face a tall order if they are to claim three points away from home. However, there are several fixtures that could pose problems before then, with a high-flying Fulham side welcoming the league leaders to Craven Cottage in just over a week’s time, while they also travel to Anfield to face Liverpool at the beginning of April – a stadium they have failed to win at in the Premier League since 2012.

Mikel Arteta will hope that his side’s impeccable record on the road, 31 points from a possible 39, will see them through those tricky fixtures in order to give themselves the best possible chance against City.

Their home form may be even more important however, particularly in the lead up towards their title showdown in Manchester. With just one defeat at the Emirates, their performances on home soil are only bettered by the Citizens.

At the tail end of the season, a three-game run of Chelsea at home, Newcastle away and Brighton at the Emirates will certainly test their resolve, should they still be in the running for the title.

As for reigning champions Manchester City, they will glance at their run-in towards the end of season will full belief they can challenge Arsenal for the remainder.

Newcastle will test their goalscoring ability to the fullest this weekend against the best defensive unit in the league, but Eddie Howe’s side are winless in four and enter the fixture off the back of a disheartening cup final defeat.

Pep Guardiola faces two of the current bottom three, while Crystal Palace, Leeds and West Ham are all match-ups they will identify as must-wins.

The sternest test of course comes in the shape of Arsenal as already mentioned, but away fixtures against Brighton in the game prior, and a trip to West London to face Brentford on the final day are difficult for any side.

The Citizens will also have FA Cup and Champions League commitments sandwiched into this schedule, providing they keep progressing through both competitions. Although Arsenal are also in the Europa League, City’s obsession with success in Europe may take precedent in the latter stages of the season if they enjoy a successful run.
