Fulham vs Chelsea 8pm Sky Sports

Chelsea come into this fixture on a horrible run of form, winning just one match from their opening seven Premier League fixtures.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side spent over £200m in the summer window, but have failed to improve on the club’s 12th place finish last year – as they sit 14th.

The Blues lost 1-0 to Aston Villa in their last league encounter thanks to an Ollie Watkins goal and further pressure has been out on the Chelsea manager to improve.

Similarly, Fulham have started the season poorly picking up eight points from their opening six matches and their problem lies largely in goalscoring.

The Cottagers have scored just five goals and the departure of star striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic, has impacted the side hugely – especially as the Serbian has already scored his first hat trick for Al-Hilal.

Both sides are in action during midweek, as the Carabao Cup returns to our screens. Chelsea welcome Brighton to Stamford Bridge in a difficult tie for both sides and Fulham host Norwich, in a slightly more forgiving clash.

The two clubs have faced off 85 times, with Chelsea winning 50 and only losing twelve – however their last defeat to Fulham came last season.

The Cottagers won 2-1 at Craven Cottage and held the Blues to a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture, the first time in league history years where they had not lost to Chelsea in a Premier League season.

Prior to that victory, Fulham’s last Premier League win against their rivals came in March 2006 and highlights the current situation at Stamford Bridge.

The match on Monday 2nd October will be live on Sky Sports and is set to kick off at 8pm BST.
