Ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal’s crunch clash next week, the Premier League have announced that Michael Oliver will be the referee for the game.
It’s the biggest game of the season next week at the Etihad and could prove to be the title decider come the end of the season.

Michael Oliver’s assistants will be Stuart Burt and Ian Hussin, with Craig Pawson being named as the fourth official. Meanwhile VAR has been assigned to David Coote who’ll be assisted by Eddie Smart.
In the Premier League, Man City have won the most games in which Oliver has been the referee. They’ve won 31 out of 40 when the 38-year-old has been the man with the whistle.
As for Arsenal in a rather concerning stat – they’ve lost the 4th most games in the Premier League when Oliver has been the referee, losing 16 of 43.
Some Arsenal fans don’t appear to be fond of the decision, and Michael Oliver was involved with sending off Martinelli last season where the Brazilian received two bookings in the space of just a few seconds.

With City recently closing the gap on league-leaders Arsenal, it makes the game ever more important.
Arsenal will hope to bounce back from their last two results after dropping four potentially vital points. They threw away a two-goal lead to draw with Liverpool before doing the same last time out against West Ham.
Meanwhile City are in a frightening run of form. Pep Guardiola’s side have won each of their last ten games in all competitions scoring 37 goals in the process.
