SportsLens Head of News Lee Astley, said: “It was reported Manchester United went in for Højbjerg late in the summer transfer window and they could go in for him again in January.

“The Denmark international has lost his position in the starting side since Ange Postecoglou came into the dugout, and Spurs were open to selling him over the summer and United have retained their interest in recent weeks.

“Ten Hag could also be on the look out for a new winger in January, with Jadon Sancho looking likely to leave the club as soon as he can. There is a lot of talent on the wing in Europe and Serge Gnabry and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have both been linked to the club in the past.

“Gnabry and Kvaratskhelia are priced at 4/1 and 9/2 respectively and are both realistic options as Sancho replacements in January.

“One of the big talking points over the summer was United’s hunt for a striker and they were reportedly heavily interested in Victor Osimhen and Evan Ferguson. However, the asking price for both was far too high with United strapped for cash due to FFP rules. Osimhen and Ferguson are firm outsiders in the market but have all been on the radar at Old Trafford in the past.

“However, with the Red Devils signing Rasmus Hojlund in the summer, it looks unlikely that they will spend big on another striker anytime soon.
