Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the side that beat West Ham 3-1 at the weekend, as the Sky Blues begin their defence of the competition they won for the very first time in June.

The Sky Blues will introduce Matheus Nunes for his full City debut, whilst Sergio Gomez and Nathan Ake also come into the side for Jeremy Doku, Josko Gvardiol and Manuel Akankji.

Guardiola spoke earlier and said that his side will take nothing for granted during the club’s European title defence, but he believes it will be made easier by winning the club’s maiden Champions League title earlier this year.

They are the betting favourites to retain their crown according to the best Champions League betting sites and they’ll be expected to advance from their Group G alongside RB Leipzig, Young Boys and tonight’s opponents Red Star Belgrade.

Kevin De Bruyne, Mateo Kovacic, John Stones and Jack Grealish all miss out through injury, but the squad aren’t short of quality and they continue to dominate world football.
