Paul Heckingbottom is under increasing pressure at Bramall Lane after his Sheffield United side suffered the biggest defeat in their 4,988 league game history on Sunday. Check out the latest first Premier League manager to be sacked odds.

Sheffield United have never been beaten as heavily before as they were on Sunday in their 8-0 loss to Newcastle, piling even more pressure on Heckingbottom.

The Blades now sit bottom of the Premier League after picking up just one point in their opening six matches. Unsurprisingly, they have also conceded the most goals in the league, shipping 17 so far.

Following the result, Heckingbottom is now the odds-on favourite with the best UK bookmakers to be the first manager to be sacked this season.

There has been plenty of speculation that former boss Chris Wilder could return to Bramall Lane, if his good friend Heckingbottom leaves in the coming days.

Wilder was manager of his boyhood club from 2016-20221 before leaving by mutual consent due to a fall out with owner Prince Abdullah.

However, Heckingbottom may not be the only boss in the top flight under pressure. Mauricio Pochettino must be feeling a little nervous after his Chelsea side lost once again at the weekend. This time it was a home loss to Aston Villa, in their second defeat on their own turf in a row.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is still waiting for his first league win in England following his appointment on the south coast in the summer.
