Nottingham Forest Vs Southampton Preview
It’s a huge game at the City Ground on Monday night, with Southampton knowing that failure to win could leave them at least six points off survival with three games left to play. As for Forest, they know any points could move them out of the relegation zone.
Both sides failed to hang onto leads in their most recent outings as Forest fumbled a one-goal lead against Brentford last time out in a 2-1 loss. As for the Saints, they were defeated 3-1 by Newcastle United last weekend, after going 1-0 up.
Steve Cooper’s side didn’t have much luck against the Bees. A howler from Keylor Navas combined with a controversial VAR meant Forest would travel back up to the Midlands with no points.
However, being back on home turf may give Forest a boost against Southampton, as they look for a seventh home win of the season.
The reverse fixture ended in a 1-0 win to Forest at St Mary’s, and is still their only away win of the season.
