Newmarket July Festival Lucky 15 Tips On Day Three, Saturday 15th July 2023
You can back our four best bets at the Newmarket July Festival on Day Three (Saturday 15th July) in a Lucky 15 bet at Paddy Power, who also have a smashing welcome offer – bet £20 and get it back as cash if your bet loses.
2.50 – Bet365 Mile (Handicap) Cl2 1m ITV – Quantum Impact @ 6/1
Ralph Beckett’s Quantum Impact is the first selection in our Saturday Lucky 15 at Newmarket in a fairly open race. The Beckett yard won this race last year with Jimi Hendrix, and Quantum Impact is our fancy to follow in his stablemate’s footsteps. Rossa Ryan also returns to the saddle after guiding the horse to glory at York on his penultimate start. Frankie Dettori partnered the colt last time out in the Britannia at Royal Ascot where he finished an underwhelming 13th out of 29 runners, but the Italian is unable to ride this weekend due to a suspension. Quantum Impact should certainly go better this time around in calmer waters and that win at York overshadows the loss at Ascot last month.
3.25 – Bet365 Superlative Stakes (Group 2) Cl1 7f ITV – City Of Troy @ 11/8
The Aidan O’Brien-trained City Of Troy is the second leg of our Lucky 15 and looks the one to beat based on what we seen on debut at the Curragh two weeks ago. The Ballydoyle camp have won this race three times in the past and can certainly make it four with this grandson of Galileo. City Of Troy finished off the race in impressive fashion last time out and stayed on well to win by 2 1/2 lengths. This handy two-year-old holds a couple of entries in hot Group One contests over the next few months, indicating he’s fancied to have a bright future.

4.00 – Bet365 Bunbury Cup (Heritage Handicap) Cl2 7f ITV – Awaal @ 11/2
Our third selection in the Lucky 15 is Awaal who has produced two great placed efforts in two of the biggest handicaps of the season so far. Simon & Ed Crisford’s gelding can be right in the mix once again in another big field and dropping back to 7f will suit, with his last win coming at that distance. Awaal is also versatile ground wise, so a softening ground wouldn’t be a worry for connections. Last time out the four-year-old finished third in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot and ran a strong race, and also finished second in the Lincoln at Doncaster back in April. We’re backing Paul Mulrennan to land this £120,000 handicap aboard Awaal in another competitive race.
4.35 – Pertemps Network July Cup Stakes (British Champions Series And Global Sprint Challenge) (Group 1) Cl1 6f ITV – Kinross @ 3/1
The final selection in our Lucky 15 for Saturday is Kinross and if this Ralph Beckett-trained gelding can replicate the form of last season then he should go very close. Despite a disappointing reappearance at Ascot last month, he should be shaped for a better run this time around – especially if there’s more rain. William Buick will saddle the six-year-old in the absence of the suspended Frankie Dettori giving the horse every chance under the Champion Jockey. Also, 6f shouldn’t be too much of an issue for Kinross considering he completed a 4-timer in the Champions Sprint at Ascot in October last year. This horse completes our Lucky 15, so play along if you’re feeling “lucky”!

What Is a Lucky 15 Bet?
If you are not sure what a Lucky 15 bet is – let us explain.
In short, a Lucky 15 bet will involve 4 HORSES and these picks are permed up in singles, doubles, trebles and a 4-fold.
With the four horses, there are 15 bets across four different selections – hence where the name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from.
Therefore, the more of your four horses to win, means a bigger return. While if only one horse wins, then you are left with just one of the 15 bets – a single.
The Lucky 15 Bet Perms are: 4 single bets, 6 doubles, 4 trebles, and 1 four-fold accumulator.
